Expecting To Hear From God?

I have had times in my life where I didn’t hear from God.   I wasn’t listening to Him either.  I had a hard time expecting Him to answer my prayers.  I know now that God can’t answer if I don’t think He will.

Call to Me, and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.  Jeremiah 33:3

He wants us to trust Him.  We are His Beloved Daughters.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.  Proverbs 3:5-6

We can rest assured that our Heavenly Father knows us.  He knows our thoughts, feelings, and where we stand or sit.  He is with us.  He has our back.  He goes before us.

He is all around us my Sweet Sisters in Christ.

We can sit before Him at the cross and trust that He will give us an answer.

In the morning, O Lord, You will hear my voice; In the morning I will order my prayer to You and eagerly watch.  Psalm 5:3

Dear Beloved Sister in Christ.   I prayed until I was 40 before God brought me my husband.  I prayed ever since I was a little girl to be a mom and in my 40s He brought me two.   He didn’t answer me when I was in my twenties or my thirties.    But He did answer.  Not in my timing.  I thought I was ready to be married and have kids in my twenties and He thought differently.   He did the right thing.  I’m blessed.

I’m fifty and I absolutely love being a mom of a seven year old and six year old.   Today I understand why God waited to give me what I asked for.

Take your prayer requests to God and wait for His answer.    He might give you exactly what you pray for or He might give you something completely different then what you hoped for.  Nonetheless, He will come through for you Dear One.

Let’s Pray

God please forgive me for not trusting you with my prayers.  I fear disappointment and I’m not always sure you are there for me in my time of need.  Help me to put my confidence in you.  I want to know that you will answer my prayers.  Open my eyes and ears to your ways.  I don’t want to live another day doubting your love for me.

In Jesus name – Amen

  1. Your prayer as a little girl reminded me of my prayers after my father died when I was only 3 years old. I believed He would answer by either bringing him back or giving me a new dad. Sure enough, my mother remarried when I was 11 years old! It took awhile, but I believed God would answer. I had a new dad and, I was thrilled! So many prayers have been answered since then – not always what I wanted, and some prayers still have not gone my way. I will continue to pray and also try to act when God wants me to help in the answer to the prayer. I have been changed by prayer, and to God be the glory!
