God’s Direction?

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. Psalm 27:4 (KJV)

While I wait for God I sometimes feel like a school girl anxiously sitting at my desk waiting for my teacher to give me directions for the next assignment.  I wanted to do something and not just sit. I remember how easy it was to be distracted by other things and I’d get all antsy.

We can make a mess out of our lives if we don’t wait on God to show us.  God knows I have.  I look back over my life and I have taken the wrong way because I didn’t want to be still.

My kids don’t like to wait for me to instruct them.  They think they know it all and they go do it without any idea of what they need to know first.  Then they find themselves in a mess up to their knees.   Me Too

To go about doing things without guidance is just as silly as going to the jungle without a compass.  Or to go down a river in a boat without a paddle.   Or take a road trip without a map.

I have been lost, banged up and ended up on dead end roads way too much in my life.  Why didn’t I learn my lesson the first time I went out on my own without a plan from God?

Because I haven’t always believed that He has the best for me and now I know He does.

My life is more peaceful because I have decided to not do something until God gives me the go ahead.

I discovered that God changes me in the waiting.

Dear Sisters, God is the potter and we are the clay.  He wants to make us and mold us before He sends us out to do His will.  He wants to change our pride into humility, doubt into faith, lust into purity, heal brokenness, and envy into contentment.

Being changed by God while waiting is crucial.

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.    Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

He knows our calling in life.  He has our vision and purpose in mind.  He knew about our days before He formed us in our Mother’s womb.

Let’s Pray

God your ways are worth waiting for and I desire to commit myself wholeheartedly to you. While you prepare me for your work I will rest in your loving arms with anticipation.   Create in me a clean heart that is holy and acceptable to you.  Renew my mind and make me strong.  In Jesus name – Amen
