Does God Care If There Are Holes In My Jeans?

Just for a minute or two stop and think about this.

The very first verse in the Bible tells us that God made the Heavens and Earth.

You and I belong to a God that created the land we walk on and the air we breathe.  He made the stars that dance in the sky.  Every morning the sun comes up and every night it goes down.

And this very same God calls us to walk and talk with Him.

Did you know that we can just come to Him as we are?  He wants us to show up and He doesn’t care if there are holes in our jeans.

God cares about our heart and He wants to stay connected with us.

But the problem is that so many of us think that we are not good enough to come to Him.

And why is that?

It’s because we have more than just holes in our jeans.  We have holes in our soul.

Holes in our soul that only can be patched up by God’s amazing grace.

Shame use to keep me from meeting with God for a chat until I accepted the fact that I’m worthy of His time.  And I’m only good enough to hang out with Him because Jesus made it so.

Jesus died on the cross for our sins and God doesn’t hold our past against us.

How does God see us?

I think Ephesians 1:3-6 does a darn good job in describing who we are.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.  (NKJV)

Dear Sisters in Christ we must always remember that we are seated with Him in Heavenly places and we don’t have to come to Him in our best Sunday school dress. Heck I don’t even own a dress at the moment and besides that isn’t what being a Christian is all about anyway.  Because nothing in the world matters to Him more than given Him our time and attention.
