Satan loves to emotionally attack God’s children. He sneaks into our life and turns on old tapes reminding us what we did wrong. Old memories are such a distraction even though we know we are forgiven.
Satan attacks my mind when I’m tired or asleep. When I wake up he is right there accusing me. This use to disturb me for hours and sometimes days until the Holy Spirit helped me fight back through prayer.
My powerful strategy
-Praise God for what He has done in your life. Thank Him for delivering you. Thank Him for where you are today. Thank Him for what He is going to do for you in the future. Turn on some worship music and celebrate your freedom through the cross.
-Be humble and repent daily. Don’t let any guilt or shame build up. Take every sin of the day to the cross and leave it there.
-Always ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and wisdom. Ask to be set free from bondage and sin. Be specific in your requests and honest.
-Be prepared to say yes to God when He shows you a way out of sin or gives you a new direction to take.
Following is a verse that helps me remember what being a Christian is about and the freedom I have in Christ. Read this verse over and over until you feel a release from the attacks of Satan. He will flee from us when we saturate ourselves with God’s word and believe it.
Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP)
Dear Sisters in Christ – God’s mercies are new every morning and His plans for you are good. Don’t allow Satan to keep you from experiencing the new things that God is doing in your life. You are God’s treasure and your life matters to all of us. Let your story be a testimony to help set the captives free.
